Hello, My name is Emily Vaughn and I am a kindergarten teacher. I was born and raised in Paris, Illinois. I married my high school sweetheart when I was 18 years old and we have been married for 35 years. My husband's name is Curt and he works in construction and scheduling at Freitag Weinhardt. We have four children. Our son Cody graduated from Eastern Illinois University with an Environmental Biology degree. He works for the state of Illinois as an environmental heath specialist. He and his wife live in rural Paris and have two children. I have a grandson named Colten that is five and in kindergarten this year which is pretty cool that we are in the same grade. Colten has a 3 1/2 year olf sister named E.J. My daughter Katie graduated from Lake Land College and works at Grace Lutheran Daycare .. She is married to Travis and they live in Paris My middle daughter Ellie is a speech pathologist in Normal, Illinois. Ellie and her husband Matt live in Normal, Illinois and they have a 2 1/2 year old son named Owen. My youngest daughter Grace is student at EIU and works at as a substitute teacher. I received my associate degree in education from Lake Land College and my Bachelors of Art from St. Mary of the Woods College. I began substitute teaching in 1997 and in 1998 I began teaching full time in District #95. I was a Title 1 reading teacher my first year and then I went to kindergarten for 10 years. In 2010 I looped with my kindergarten class to first grade. I learned a lot about 1st grade but my heart truly belongs in kindergarten and I have been back ever since. In December of 2012 I completed my Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. My interests include reading, traveling, gardening, and spending time with my family.
